I pivoted to music in the fall of 2021 when The Kit assigned me a cover story on Canadian indie darling Feist, who did residencies in both Toronto and Ottawa in October. She made my job easy by being not only generous with her time, but speaking so eloquently and articulately about what her life was like in lockdown, becoming a mother to a baby girl, writing new music and premiering the material before it was recorded.
